SPX and Dow Swing Performance

Trading the S&P 500 cash index by registering entries and exits at TimerTrac.com.

Our trading reflects use of our Time Locus© turn dates, our timing signals provided in advance to subscribers.  We also use well known technical indicators, our proprietary indicators and models, our three proprietary Daily Index Sentiment measures and market phase and structure (Elliott Wave).

These are graphs produced by TimerTrac.com on their site.  The required membership at TimerTrac would allow you to see these graphs and statistics for a monthly fee.  We trade four indexes, Dow 30/SPX/NDX/RUT, at TimerTrac.com.  The graphs are unedited except for the delayed increment shown in the graphic.  We show the SPX data here and will update the graphs periodically.

To an investor, the most important computed data under the graphs below is the "Ulcer Index" by Martin and McCann.  Tap this link to learn more from Peter Martin on his website about how to assess timing strategies, risk and return performance.

SPX Index Swing Trades:

  1. No leverage, such as futures/options are used.
  2. We simply are long, or short, or in cash, on the index opening or closing price.

We base the modelled Swing trades for an index on:

  1. Our Time Locus© turning points
  2. Technicals: momentum indicators, volume patterns
  3. Three Daily Index Sentiments - Normalized, LowLag, Reaction
  4. Market structure and phasing

Recent TimerTrac.com SPX graphs taken for our subscribers (date span below chart):

Worst month was January 2008 - down 6.73%.  Until certain price levels were broken, it was still potentially a Bull market.  In January, the last bullish line was broken which confirmed our belief that a very, very long term Bear market was beginning. The Bear should last at least until the end of 2011, if not longer into 2012.  The first move downward is still in progress.  This will be followed by a significant retracement rally lasting several months.  posted June 2008 - WBB
